Prisons Ministry
Sometime back we Partnered EMIT through old ministry friend Pastor Mevis. (EMIT is a Bible College, leadership training, from within Africa for Africa by Africans).
One of the projects we partner in is Ministry to Chainama East Correctional Facility.
As a ministry we have consistently supported the outreach through feeding
This year we also asked to help equip the two hospital clinics within the facility with basic medical equipment.
Through our sewing Machine donor, we provided industrial sewing machines for the manufacturing of unforms for the prisoners.
In addition to these we also donated domestic machines for prisoner rehabilitation and therapy
Through the support of donors, the conditions and help to these people has been improved and both warder and doctors testify to both physical and mental health improvements. It is challenging to minister to the mental health patients at the best of times but those incarcerated adds a few more challenges but many an inspirational speech has been written about doing things not because they are easy but because they are right. God puts into the simplest of terms 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers,[f] you did it to me.’
I am encouraged and grateful for the support for this outreach through our network and the team mostly women that are hands on being Gods Hands and feet.
Appeal
On hand, thanks to the the contents of the containers, we have such wonderful medical equipment, tools, sewing machines and teaching/educations supplies; we are blessed. But as much as we have received a container recently we still look forward to doing more.
We can do more with more.
We look now to raise the funds to source the goods, and ship another container.
