It has been good to get back into ministry after a small break in January and the restrictions of farming in February. The good news is we look to harvest 80 bags of maze this year I praise God for this as it looked like the rains would fail us and leave us and many others in hunger. But God is faithful and our prayers “avail much”. This even more powerful considering that this should have been a drought year as we have had a cycle of drought 81, 91 and 2001 but is God is able 2011 we have a harvest.
Recently I visited a new church plant out in the Kabwe north east in area near a small prison I personally was shocked how my friends have been doing they are holding on to God but life has been tough and the basic commodities we take for granted like soap is luxury. I am collect what I can as visit over the next few days take them a small gift because we care.
Exciting news, we have just completed one of the many soccer outreaches we have planned this year, this outreach was up in the army barrack on the north side of Kabwe. What a response! we had 150 youth over the few days, in short we have started two new two teams which is about 40 youths being disciple and mentored weekly. Plus form the whole group we have seen 20 new youths attending local churches.
I do ask you stand with us in prayer and support as we continue our Goal of reaching the youth, we have already trained 300 life coaches and when youth think about could reach 6000 youth on weekly encounter and that is just having 1 team each now imagine as we push on to 1000 coaches and as they grow they take on others and mentor 3 teams each that is a massive 60,000 plus youth. Our future is getting brighter.
I know it works because after we start a new team it doesn’t take long before the parents begin to ask if their child can join a team, as they can clearly see the difference between those youth in a team and those who are not. That is the power of discipleship.
